Big News everyone! Jupiter, the planet responsible for opportunities, joy, optimism and positivity is about to go direct, on Sunday, Aug. 11th.
Woo-Hoo, now we have Mars MOJO (energy) back in the sign of Leo…..and Jupiter turning direct! OH YEAH 🙂
Jupiter is often referred to as the “Guru” or teacher planet. Jupiter is satvic, (pure) and a benefic. For most of us, our fathers were our first teacher or guru. Another common name for Jupiter is “Brihaspati”.
Since April 10th, Jupiter has been retrograde. For a brief period of time it went into the sign of Sagittarius, on March 30th and then began its retrograde process on April 10th moving all the way back to Scorpio on April 23rd. From there, it continued its retrograde in the sign of Scorpio.
First, let me give a brief explanation on “retrograde”. Planets are always moving forward. It is the energy we are referring to when a planet goes retrograde. The effect of retrograde is that it greatly reduces the ability of a benefic, like Jupiter to give its benefits. Ultimately, a benefic functions best in a forward movement. On the other hand a malefic when retrograde does not bring as much negativity.
Now, that Jupiter moves direct, it will bring back its positive energy!
Jupiter has a large domain of influence. It rules money, wealth, prosperity, luck, opportunity, fortune, religion, philosophy, wisdom, truthfulness, faith, devotion, optimism. It rules our guru’s, and religious teachers, law and legal affairs. The karaka or indicator of children in our chart. Compassion is another quality of Jupiter. It also helps us find solutions to our problems.
One of the first things you will notice is that you will feel more optimistic and positive. If you have been feeling negative or negatively impacted by Jupiter’s retrograde, all that will change. Especially for the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces. Jupiter rules their charts and they have felt its retrograde impact on an intensely emotional level.
As Jupiter turns direct, it will cast its positive influence to Pisces and to the sign of Cancer. Cancer benefits greatly, as Jupiter is exalted in the sign of Cancer. The planets Mercury, Venus and the Sun will all feel Jupiter’s special positive rays and qualities. This will aid the signs of Gemini, Virgo, Leo, Taurus and Libra.
As for Venus transit in Cancer, this may cause some relationship challenges during this time.
Venus and Jupiter are not friends and come from different camps in Vedic astrology. I often say that they have different agendas. But what this means to you, is that you may notice challenges with emotions and communicating your feelings to our partners and to family members. Cancer is the home loving sign of the zodiac. Home and family matters are very important to Cancer. Because Jupiter is a benefic, it means that more compassion is involved, even when there are misunderstandings.
Jupiter will give us the higher consciousness we need to work through any obstacles.
Jupiter is aspecting the signs that deal with our emotions. It is transiting through Scorpio, it is aspecting Pisces and Cancer. All water signs deal with intuition, the flexibility of our mind, with our ability to be responsive. This is what makes water signs very capable in areas of counseling and also makes them good teachers and nurturers.
During this time, Mars is also aspecting Scorpio, the sign it rules and aspecting Jupiter’s transit. Scorpio is the sign of “transformation”, it also Involves scandals, intrigue, secrets. We will see more information uncovered as Jupiter, Mars and Mercury are all involved in the transformation. The information we will be receiving is transforming us.
Everyone is going to be benefiting by Jupiter’s direct motion!
Jupiter will transit out of Scorpio and into the sign of Sagittarius on 11/5. Jupiter rules the sign of Sagittarius. Where the energy changes dramatically. The fire signs will then be activated. Fire signs are action oriented and people with leadership skills are motivated to make changes.
For now, enjoy Jupiter’s direct motion and the grace that Jupiter bestows!
